The decision to open or close schools in bad weather has a big effect on families. We understand that our students are better served – both academically and socially – by being in school. But, as always, our top priority is the safety of our students.

PTO Meeting - The next meeting of the PTO will be held on Wednesday morning at 8:30AM in the school library and again at 7PM in the auditorium. We hope that continuing to have two meetings will allow more parents to join us.

Report Cards - Today, Wednesday, November 11th, is Report Card Conference Day. Report cards for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade for the first quarter were distributed. Parents and teachers had the opportunity to discuss student achievement and ways to improve in the coming weeks, if necessary.

MTA Payroll Tax - New York State has imposed the MTA Payroll Tax to assist with the bailout of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Under this new law, only public schools will be reimbursed. Accompanying this newsletter is a letter from Dr. Timothy McNiff, Superintendent of Schools, asking for your help. Even though Election Day has passed, I ask you to still contact your local representative. The New York State Catholic Conference web site also provides a way to send a message.

Field Trips - Wednesday, October 21st began a series of field trips for all of our students. The Preschool ventured to Outhouse Orchards. This past Monday we had two trips! The 4th Grade visited the Mahopac Library and grades 1–3 spent the day at the Hudson Valley Children's Museum.

Entertainment Book - Sales envelopes need to be returned with payment by Friday, October 23rd along with any unsold books. Volunteers are needed to help sell books after mass at the school Saturday and Sunday, October

This week will wrap up our Innisbrook and Entertainment Book fundraisers. Please take the opportunity give these products one final push before turning in any sales material this week.
